CLAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria, Schedule Dates, Fees and Details

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2017) is a national level entrance exam for seeking admissions to five-year integrated law programmes (BA LLB, B.Com LLB, B.Sc LLB and BBA LLB) offered by 18 National Law Universities (NLUs) of India. In addition to the undergraduate law programmes, CLAT is also conducted for admission into postgraduate law programmes LLM.

Chanakya National Law University Patna will conduct Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2017 on May 14. Last year (2016), it was managed by the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law Punjab. CLAT 2017 online application form has been started from the 1st January 2017.  The CLAT 2017 will be held online in approximately 66 exam centres across India. CLAT 2017 scores will be accepted by as many as 18 NLUs and other law colleges after result of CLAT 2017 will be announced on May 29. Around 2352 number of seats offered for undergraduate programmes and 604 seats for postgraduate programmes from this CLAT 2017. The 18 participating NLUs in the order of their year of establishment are:

CLAT 2017 Admission Process

Aspirants seeking admission into undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes from top Law universities of India need to appear for CLAT 2017. The admission process of CLAT begins with the examination notification and availability of application forms. The CLAT 2017 applicants then will have to appear for the common law admission test. Based on their performance in the entrance examination, candidates will be awarded All India Ranks (AIRs) and CLAT 2017 scores which will be accepted by NLUs and other various law schools.  The CLAT committee will be organizing CLAT 2017 counseling upon which they will be allotted seats in different NLUs under centralized counseling system.

CLAT 2017 Application Fee

Candidates those belong to the UR/OBC/SAP (Specially Abled Persons) category, have to submit Rs. 4,000/- as an application fee. SC/ST candidates have to pay Rs. 3,500/- only. The application fee can be deposited either through Online or e-Challan. Additional bank charges may apply for the above transactions. The application fee is non-refundable in any circumstances.

CNLU Patna has begun application form of CLAT from January 1,2017 and application form needs to be filled before the last date, i.e., March 31, 2017; otherwise no applications will be entertained thereafter.
